✨ Purpose and compatibility
This printable hatch mounts the AtomRC FPV Gimbal on Orca V3 in a clean, secure way. It fully supports Gimbal V1. However, Gimbal V2 uses a front slide mount, so its quick release does not work here. You can still use V2, first attach its base and FPV system, then install the set on this hatch. If you need a V2-specific hatch, please let us know.
The setup supports head tracking, and the camera clears the fuselage at every angle 🧭
📦 Included in your download
You get STL files, a 3MF project file, a print settings table, and build notes. As a result, you can print, install, and fly with confidence ⚙️📁
🔁 Two ways to swap and fly
No fuselage mods are needed. The full FPV system sits on the hatch, so you can switch between the standard FPV hatch and this AtomRC hatch in minutes. Simply unplug the FPV lead from the flight controller, then plug in the other lead. With Gimbal V1, you also keep the AtomRC quick release, which makes field swaps even faster 🔁✈️
🎮 A better FPV experience
Although the AtomRC unit is large for an 800 mm model, we flight-tested it many times. The view feels richer even without head tracking. You can look left or right to track a point, look down or up to inspect, and look back to see the fuselage. With head tracking, immersion improves even more 🎯
🧪 Printing and heat behavior
Print the hatch with Regular PLA. Because the VTX sits outside, the canopy stays cool and keeps its shape. The mount guides your cables and gives the gimbal a solid seat 🧊🛠️
🌬️ Smart airflow control
On the stock FPV setup, Orca uses an air intake for VTX cooling. With the AtomRC gimbal, both the camera and VTX sit outside, so you need less intake. Therefore, we include a cap to close that intake in a controlled way, leaving enough airflow for the flight controller and ESC. Use the cap for the best thermal balance 🌬️
