A fantastic new free upgrade has been released for the Lightest FPV Trainer Plane CraycleCub V2!

This Cub has a print flow rate of 1.06 and weighs 448g, equipped with a Cub PowerPack and a 3S 1300mAh LiPo battery. When printed with a regular flow rate, it is 15g lighter.

We were flying with 585g flight weight with floats. The problem was that the model flew too fast.

With this free upgrade, the CraycleCub now weighs 487 grams, including the floats!
Why we stucked on the weight?
Cub V1 has 640g flight weight without floats. Click for the flight video
We had no problem with the flight weight but we wanted to make it lighter to add FPV systems comfortably and have more flight time. Then we reduced the flight weight to 520g with the latest Cub V2 update!
But even this was not enough for the floating performance. Bigger floats needed and model flew fast. Click for the flight video
After printing the model with LW-PLA, the issue for the float version is resolved, but we aim to ensure our models remain as compatible with Regular PLA across all versions as possible.
Then we started to work againโฆ

Moved to servos forward to get rid of CG balance weights. Still have space for the FC and GPS mounts and they are better located now.

Since we donโt need the Hatch2, 2 screws, and servo mount details, the FS3 part is now much lighter and this also helps to get CG correct without weights. I wanted to retain the stylish air vents on the FS3, so this design has been created.

This way we were able to get the Cub V2 about 100 grams lighter with Regular PLA ๐ฅณ

This also means you can use smaller PowerPack to make the model under 400 grams. Similar to a Park Flyer!

We also made an adaptor for the GH-S37D 3,7g servos so you can save extra weight on the servos.
9 grams servos are 11 grams with cable and S37D is 4,7 grams with cable. So you will save 25,2 grams by using 4 pcs S37D servos!
This adaptor is also included in the files now and you can use this servo on all Craycle Planes as the same!

What if we print the new CraycleCub V2 using LW-PLA? We will share more details soon. First, we want to test the floating performance with a 100-gram lighter Cub and release the floats!
Note: We believe that we spend more time on our models than anyone else. This gives us experience for future models, improves Printed Kit production and ensures that we give you the value of the money we receive from you. The sustainability of this works depends on your purchases. If you like our work, you can support us by purchasing another Craycle model.
You can access the latest files for free from your account. The PDF guide will be updated in the coming days. If you haven’t purchased yet, it’s time to try the CraycleCub FPV Trainer model.
