Take Your CraycleCub to the Water
The CraycleCub float kit converts your CraycleCub 800 mm for takeoffs and landings on calm water.
We print each part with Regular PLA. Therefore, the complete set stays lightweight while providing the strength required for normal water operations.
Lightweight CraycleCub Float Kit ⚖️
Weight is critical on the 800 mm model. The complete float set weighs approximately 62 grams 🪶.
For the best performance, keep the model’s total flight weight below 460 grams, including the floats. Therefore, choose the lighter options from the recommended electronics.
Also, apply only the necessary amount of adhesive, primer, and paint. Extra weight can increase the takeoff distance and affect flight performance.
For your first float-equipped RC model, consider the larger CraycleCub 1000 mm version. Its larger size provides a more forgiving setup.
Assembly and Waterproofing 💧
3D-printed parts may contain microscopic gaps. Therefore, you must seal the floats before placing them on water.
During assembly:
- Apply CA adhesive along every joint
- Spread the adhesive over the joint to create a complete seal
- Check each joint for visible gaps
- Avoid adding unnecessary adhesive
After assembly:
- Apply one thin and even primer coat
- Apply one thin final paint or waterproof coating
You can use acrylic paint or another lightweight waterproof coating. However, avoid thick layers because they add unnecessary weight.
Finally, test both floats for leaks before installing them on the model.
Protecting the Electronics ⚠️
Water may enter the fuselage during takeoffs and landings. The CraycleCub has drainage openings, so collected water can leave the model. However, these openings cannot protect the electronics.
Therefore, we strongly recommend waterproofing the Servos, Receiver, and ESC.
Keep the electronics as dry as possible. In addition, inspect the complete system after every water flight.

Compatibility
This CraycleCub float kit fits only the standard CraycleCub 800 mm.
For a larger and more forgiving setup, choose the separate CraycleCub 1000 mm Float Kit.
Important Information
This product comes as an unassembled physical kit.
You must glue, seal, paint, and test the floats before use. The package does not include the model aircraft, electronics, adhesive, paint, waterproofing products, or digital files.
Use the model only on calm water. Also, inspect the floats, mounting points, electronics, controls, and drainage openings before every flight.
