Back Lights and Wing Lights for the Night Flights

We have developed Backlights and Winglights for night flights for Discover. It is very simple to make and materials are very accessible. The idea that gave us the courage to design LED lights is our DIY RC LED Driver study. Thanks to this study, anyone can make their LED driver now. We are proud to present this simple but incredible design that will allow you to fly at night and give a cool view to the model.

LEDLights

We used 3mm LED Diodes for Backlights and Winglights because they are widely used in electronics and usually work with 3V. You need a PWM LED driver to control it from the radio, these are very affordable but not common and hard to find. To solve this, we invented a PWM LED Driver using a Servo circuit. The servo motor works with 5V, we reduce it to 3V using a 75ohm resistor so we can drive 3V 3mm LED diodes this way. Since servo motors are speed controlled, you can even adjust the intensity of the LED light when you connect your LED driver to a Pod on your radio. You can also adjust the Rate to control LED intensity from the radio while using a Switch.

The Craycle's Discover V2 model is designed to appeal to drone enthusiasts who are interested in aerial photography and FPV (First Person View) flights. This versatile RC platform is engineered for cinematic shots, long-range FPV flights, and autonomous flying. It allows users to fly outdoors with multiple types of cameras, thanks to its quick-release camera mounts that are compatible with nearly all GoPro models and other action cameras. Its upper wing design ensures a balanced and stable flight. With the Adjustable Wing Span feature, it can carry more load for more efficient flights. The Discover V2 is designed to accommodate a Lipo battery of 15,000mAh or larger, offering hours of flight and filming capabilities.

This model flies incredibly well and assembly is a breeze, with all the parts basically snapping together. With my setup of 3s 4400amh battery I get around 1 hour flight, and the good thing is it can handle more battery capacity. The electronics trays are really easy to access and customize to your liking. This is a well thought out design and is very versatile. Would recommend if you are looking for a long range UAV or just for flying FPV
